Atletico Madrid have announced on their official website that star midfielder Arda Turan has extended his contract at Vicente Calderon.
The Turkey international has put pen to paper on a contract until June 2017, but the financial details were not disclosed.
Despite expressing his desire to leave los Colchoneros last season, the 26-year-old has continued his rich vein of form and was in turn rewarded with a new contract.
Arda Turan joined Atletico from Turkish giants Galatasaray two years ago, and quickly developed into a key member of the side.
The attacking midfielder enjoyed a lot of success with his new club, winning Europa League, UEFA Super Cup trophy and Copa del Rey.
Since arriving at Vicente Calderon, Turan has made a total of 69 La Liga appearances, scoring 9 goals in the process.
Meanwhile, he has remained an important part of Turkey national team, and currently has 58 caps to his name.
