Areola’s PSG extension could be finalised soon

According to reports in France, Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Alphonse Areola could complete his contract extension very soon. The 25 year old initially joined the club at the age of 13, and since then, he’s slowly built up through the ranks to the point where he’s now one of the best goalkeepers in Ligue 1. Areola was a part of the France squad that won the 2018 FIFA World Cup earlier this summer, and while logic would dictate that he remains with PSG, there have been a few rumblings here and there regarding a potential move.

Either way his future seems to be pretty secure, as PSG attempt to tie down several of their biggest stars. Areola’s current deal is set to expire next summer, but this new deal could lead to him remaining in Paris until at least 2023. Still, with no confirmation as of this point, we’ll have to wait and see how this plays out.
