Velez Sarsfield winger Ivan Bella has welcomed a reported interest from Portuguese giants Benfica.

The Argentine club recently revealed that the Eagles had indeed shown interest in the highly rated midfielder and that they expected to receive an official bid.

Bella, who is a close friend of Porto stopper Nicolas Ottamendi, states that he would love to join the Estadio da Luz outfit.

“If an offer that is attractive to both me and the club arrives, of course I would love to play at Benfica,” the 23-year-old confessed to O Jogo.

One of the reasons why Benfica are so keen on Bella is the fact he can be acquired on the cheap, with his release clause standing at mere €4 million.

Ivan Bella has spent his entire career at Estadio Jose Amalfitani, but he has only recently established himself as a first team regular.

In total, the winger has made 82 league appearances for Velez, scoring 7 goals in the process.

His record of 8 yellow cards in 14 games this term, however, may be frowned upon by his future employers.
