Estudiantes midfielder Enzo Perez has revealed that he is very close to making a switch to Benfica.

The negotiations between the two clubs have reached the final stage and the transfer should be wrapped up within next few days.

“The president and my agent told me that the negotiations were well advanced,” Perez told A Bola.

“But, I haven’t yet signed a contract with Benfica. The truth is, just to be safe, I have clung to Portuguese dictionary.

”However, I realize that it is not good enough to start speaking the language.”

The Argentina international received standing ovations from Estudiantes fans in the match against River Plate and he admits that was a farewell to the club.

“It was impressive. I will never forget Estudiantes, the club where I reached the maximum level of sports performance and to which I owe everything that I am as a professional.”
