(GSM) – Lanus climb to third place in the Argentinian Primera Division following a 2-0 win over San Lorenzo on Saturday.

The first half of the match between Lanus and San Lorenzo went by without either side finding the net, but Gonzalo Castillejos did break the deadlock eight minutes after the break.

Another eight minutes later, Silvio Romero converted a spot kick for 2-0.

Lanus, now third in the league, are seven points behind leaders Estudiantes and two points behind Arsenal.

Newell’s Old Boys lost touch with the top, dropping to fifth place after a 1-1 draw with Quilmes. Mauro Formica put Newell’s ahead in the 30th minute but Quilmes’ Danilo Gerlo equalised on the hour.
