Spanish newspaper Super Deporte has learned that Valencia are keeping close tabs on Sampdoria goalkeeper Sergio Romero.
Los Che are on the lookout for a new shot-stopper considering that Vicente Guaita is expected to leave in the summer and the Argentina international is one of the players they are looking at.
Inter Milan player Juan Pablo Carrizo is also on their radar, but Sergio Romero appears to be the first name on their hit-list.
The 27-year-old was loaned to Monaco in the summer with a view to a permanent move to Stade Louis II, but the Argentine has since failed to make a single appearance for the club in Ligue 1.
Despite struggling for playing time at club level, Romero has remained the first choice in the national team, with Argentina boss Alejandro Sabella recently confirming this will continue to be the case regardless of the player’s lack of action.
