(GSM) – Velez Sarsfield are back in second place in the Argentinian Primera Division following a very convincing 6-0 win over Colon on Sunday.
Uruguayan striker Santiago Silva handed Velez a 1-0 lead from the penalty spot in the 43rd minute, and Juan Martinez doubled the gap nine minutes after the break.
Silva then converted another spot kick in the 58th minute, and Martinez completed his hat-trick with two more goals in the following ten minutes.
The sixth and final goal at Jose Amalfitani stadium came from Jonathan Cristaldo in the 84th minute.
Velez share the second spot with Arsenal, but do have a better goal record. Leaders Estudiantes are five points ahead.
