Sky Sport Italia has learned that Napoli and Hellas Verona are locked in the battle for San Lorenzo midfielder Hector ‘Tito’ Villalba.
The Azzurri were the first high-profile club to express the interest in the 19-year-old footballer, but they have yet to make their interest concrete.
Meanwhile, Hellas Verona have joined the race as well, with sporting director Sean Sogliano flying to Argentina to make a check on the youngster.
Hector Daniel Villalba has come through the youth ranks at San Lorenzo and has made a total of 39 league appearances for the club, scoring 6 goals in the process.
He has yet to establish himself as a first team regular, but that did not stop Italy’s top clubs from casting admiring glances his way.
The attacking midfielder can cover a number of positions up front and he is predicted a bright future in the game, with a move to Europe reportedly on the cards.
