Portuguese daily newspaper A Bola understands that Manchester United are keeping close tabs on Velez Sarsfield midfielder Lucas Romero.
The youngster has impressed in the holding midfield role in the Argentine championship this season and has in turn caught the eye of some of the Europe’s biggest clubs.
Manchester United, Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan and AC Milan are all believed to be keen on his services.
The Red Devils are in desperate need of midfield reinforcements and they believe the 19-year-old could go on to become a star player at Old Trafford.
Lucas Romero is reportedly valued at €10 million, but that is unlikely to be a problem for his suitors, especially if he continues putting in strong performances in Argentine top division.
The youngster hasn’t yet managed to nail down a regular starting berth at Velez, but he has already amassed 38 league appearances, starting half of those games.
