Spanish daily newspaper Marca understands that Villarreal are closing in on Racing de Avellaneda forward Luciano Vietto.
The Yellow Submarine reportedly submitted a €5 million bid for the player’s services and even though his employers are holding out for €10 million, it is believed the proposal will be seriously considered.
League rivals Valencia are thought to have the first option on the 20-year-old footballer, but it looks as though los Che are not interested in signing the player this summer.
Luciano Vietto has long ago attracted attention from Europe’s top clubs with some scintillating performances in Argentina’s top flight, and chances are he will be making a move to Europe as early as this summer.
The highly rated forward has been playing regular first team football for Racing de Avellaneda for some two years now, making a total of 69 league appearances and scoring 18 goals. Vietto also has two goals in four matches for Argentina Under-20 side.
