Argentine striker Ernesto Farias has left Portuguese giants FC Porto after signing for Brazilian outfit Cruzeiro. The 30 year old was said to want a return to South America after failing to settle down at Porto and his wishes appear to have been fulfilled after Cruzeiro successfully negotiated the terms of his transfer with Porto.
Half of Maicon’s rights have been transferred to Porto in exchange for Farias coming to Brazil.
Farias joined Porto from River Plate in 2007 for four million euros, but had to mostly be content with a role as an impact player with the likes of Lisandro Lopez, Falcao and Hulk also competing for a spot in the starting XI along with him.
