(GSM) – Argentinos Juniors went to the top of the Clausura in Argentina on Sunday with a thrilling 4-3 win over Independiente. They were able to go a point clear after Estudiantes drew 0-0 at home with Rosario Central.

Nicolás Pavlovich put the home side in front in the 26th minute, but that lasted only two minutes as Independientes’ Leonel Núñez equalized.

The visitors then took command early in the second half as Dario Gandín put Independiente 2-1 in front, and Núñez’s second goal had them two up with 23 minutes to play.

But Pavlovich pulled one back in the 73rd minute to reduce the deficit to 3-2, setting up a dramatic finish.

Juan Alberto Sabia equalized for Juniors in the 89th minute, and Matías Caruzzo scored the last-gasp winner three minutes into stoppage time.

The win sent Juniors to the summit, and they stayed there as Estudiantes scuffled in a 0-0 draw at home against Rosario Central.

It was an inopportune draw for Estudiantes, as they now have just one match remaining to overtake Juniors for the title.

Juniors will be at Huracán on Saturday in their final game while Estudiantes are away to Colón.
