Greek first division side Aris Salonica announced on Saturday they had signed much-travelled Uruguayan striker Sebastian Abreu.

The 33-year-old – capped 46 times with 27 goals – signed a one year contract.

Aris did not reveal financial details of the contract.

On a club level Abreu – nicknamed ‘El Loco’ – has played for a number of teams in Uruguay, Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, Spain and Israel.

“I am happy to have completed my transfer to Aris, a team which has met all my desires,” said Abreu.

“I had a number of offers from abroad, and from Greece, but I chose Aris because it is a club that showed that it wanted me very much.

“On my part I will do everything to justify their selection of me and will bring joy to the supporters of the team,” added Abreu.
