Arjen Robben to Benfica?

According to a recent report from Sport Bild, Arjen Robben has held talks with Portuguese side Benfica over the possibility of him joining the club. The Dutchman is set to leave Bayern Munich during the upcoming summer transfer window, and has actually been heavily linked with a move to the Middle East. Instead of that, though, it seems more likely that he’ll stick around in Europe, with Benfica being an interesting possible home for him.

The veteran just hasn’t quite been able to replicate the kind of form that he’s known for during the last year or so of his tenure at Bayern, meaning that it makes sense for all parties to part ways.

Alas, while that may be the case, there’s no denying that he still has the ability to change a game at a moment’s notice. If he can replicate that kind of form with Benfica, who knows where it could take them in the next few years.
