Arsenal fans are feeling great once again as they returned to the top of the Premier League table with a 5-0 win over Nottingham Forest yesterday. We saw goals from four different Gunners players and today, we’re going to pick out a few takeaways from another emphatic day at the Emirates.
Forest’s woes
Nottingham Forest may have felt as if the win over Liverpool would serve as a turning point but in reality, it was probably just an indication of where Klopp’s side are at as opposed to Forest. They’re great at digging their heels in when playing at the City Ground but away from home, more often than not, they just seem to crumble – as exemplified by this performance.
Concern for Saka
Bukayo Saka limped off with an injury here and the big concern, of course, is that he may not be fit in time for the start of the World Cup. There’s no guarantee that this will be the case but England supporters are already anxious in the wake of Reece James going down with an injury of his own. Saka wants redemption from the Euros, and we hope he gets the chance.
Arsenal can do it
With 12 games gone this season, Arsenal are two points clear of Manchester City in the title race after having dropped points just twice in the Premier League. We aren’t saying they should be the favourites to win it all as City have a better pedigree for that by quite some distance, but the Gunners are legitimate contenders – and that should scare a lot of clubs around the top six.
