According to Sky Sports sources, Arsenal have agreed a fee for French youngster Matteo Guendouzi. The 19-year-old has been on the radar of many top European clubs as of late courtesy of his fantastic performances for FC Lorient, who he has been with since 2014. The midfielder initially spent nine years of his youth development with Paris Saint-Germain before being moved on to Lorient, who currently play in the second tier of French football.
Emery has been eager to bolster his ranks in the middle of the park and while Guendouzi would likely be a player for the future as opposed to the present, it’s interesting to see that Unai Emery is planning that far in advance. Guendouzi has played for the France under-20s at the international level, and while the senior team is very competitive, he has the potential to be a huge star both domestically and internationally.
The fee is believed to be around £8 million for the youngster who has also been linked with Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City.
