French daily newspaper L’Equipe has learned that Arsenal and Chelsea are locked in the battle for QPR striker Loic Remy.
The same source has suggested that both clubs have matched the player’s €10 million release clause, meaning that the Frenchman is almost certain to quit Loftus Road before Monday’s transfer deadline.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho even went to confirm the Blues were in talks to sign Remy and it is now up to the player himself to make a decision on his future.
Loic Remy joined QPR from Marseille in January 2013 and in turn managed to make an instant impact in English Premier League.
After bagging 6 goals in 14 league outings for Rangers, the 27-year-old enjoyed a very successful loan spell with Newcastle, where he notched 14 goals in 26 league matches.
He has caught the eye of England’s top clubs in the process and is now set to leave QPR for greener pastures.
