According to a recent report from L’Equipe, Arsenal are going to be able to sign long term target Dayot Upamecano during next year’s summer transfer window. They were linked with him this past summer but couldn’t get a deal of any kind over the finish line, but now, RB Leipzig will be forced into a situation where they sell him for his release clause of £53 million – unless they are able to come to terms on a new deal for him.
The defender has been on the wishlist of the Gunners for longer than most fans can even remember but at this stage, the 20 year old’s future is still up for debate. Arsenal would be able to offer him a step up in the eyes of some fans, but there’s an argument to be made that Leipzig are the ones with more substantial potential in the long run, if they can sustain their current trajectory.
