Arsenal are considering bringing Folarin Balogun back from his loan spell at Reims in the January transfer window, according to 90min. Balogun moved to Ligue 1 outfit Reims on a season-long loan deal from Premier League club Arsenal in the summer of 2022, but due to the injury to Gabriel Jesus, the Gunners are exploring the option to recall the 21-year-old striker.
Jesus joined Arsenal from Manchester City in the summer of 2022 and is the number one striker at the Emirates Stadium at the moment. However, the striker suffered a knee injury while playing for Brazil at the ongoing 2022 Qatar World Cup and has undergone surgery. He could miss three months of action.
Balogun has made 12 starts and three substitute appearances in Ligue 1 for Reims so far this season, scoring eight goals and providing one assist in the process.
