Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi in shock Barcelona link

Barcelona are interested in signing Shkodran Mustafi in the January transfer window, according to the Arsenal central defender’s agent, Emre Ozturk. Ozturk has told SPOX journalist Fabian Zerche that he was in Barcelona to negotiate on behalf of the 28-year-old

“I’m not in Barcelona because of Yusuf Demir, but because of Shkodran Mustafi from Arsenal, whom we also represent,”  Ozturk told SPOX journalist Fabian Zerche.

Mustafi has been on the books of Arsenal since 2016, and although he has done well on occasions, the Germany international is not one of the best central defenders in Europe. Barcelona are one of the biggest clubs in the world, and links between the Spanish and European giants and Mustafi come as a huge shock.

According to WhoScored, Mustafi has played just 44 minutes in the Premier League and 401 minutes in the Europa League for Arsenal so far this season. During the 2019-20 campaign, the defender made 13 starts and two substitute appearances in the league and played seven times in the Europa League for the Gunners, according to WhoScored.
