According to a recent report from Sky sources, Arsenal are getting closer and closer to agreeing a deal with French club Saint-Etienne over the signing of defender William Saliba. The deal would, interestingly enough, see him go straight back out on loan to Saint-Etienne next season, which would still leave the Gunners needing reinforcements at the back ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
Tottenham were also interested in signing him but have yet to put forward a formal offer, meaning that Saint-Etienne are going to wait until they do so before deciding who to sell him to. It seems like this tactic is being done in order to try and increase the price that they receive for him, but even with their intervention, Saliba is apparently more interested in the idea of playing for Arsenal.
Either way, the Premier League is going to have a brand new defender on their books very soon.
