According to the Mirror, Arsenal are exploring the possibility of signing Marco Asensio from Real Madrid this summer.
The 26-year-old winger reportedly has a release clause worth over £400 million in his contract, but it’s set to expire in 12 months which puts the Spanish giants in a situation in which they probably never wanted to be. They’ve apparently offered him a new deal and gave him a deadline – by June 20th – to decide if he wants to sign it or be placed on the market.
There has been no answer so far, and Arsenal are obviously considering an attempt to take advantage of the moment and acquire the talented Spaniard for their own team.
With Vinicius Junior already established as one of Real’s main star, particularly after he scored the goal which swung the Champions League final in their favour against Liverpool, and Rodrygo Goes playing a big part in the campaign as well, Asensio’s place in the starting XI has become questionable.
