(GSM) – Arsenal have targeted Ajax goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has already expressed his doubts over his goalies at the Emirates and it’s reported he is considering a replacement for Spanish shot stopper Manuel Almunia.

Holland goalkeeper Stekelenburg had an impressive display at the World Cup and might emerge as an alternative for Australia goalie Mark Schwarzer who has been priced out of any potential deal by Fulham, who want around £4 million for the 37-year-old.

Manchester United have also been linked with Stekelenburg, who still has two year on his deal with Ajax.
