Arsenal eye Barcelona attacking midfielder Philippe Coutinho

Arsenal are interested in signing Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona in the summer transfer window, according to 90min. It has been reported that the Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta wants to bring in a creative midfielder, and that former Liverpool attacking midfielder Coutinho is of significant interest to the Gunners.

Coutinho joined Barcelona from Liverpool in 2018 and was expected to be a huge success at Camp Nou. The 29-year-old, who can also play as a winger, scored 41 goals in 152 appearances in the Premier League for the Reds. However, the Brazil international has struggled at Barcelona and spent the 2019-20 season on loan at German and European giants Bayern Munich.

During the 2020-21 campaign, Coutinho made eight starts and four substitute appearances in La Liga for Barcelona, scoring two goals and providing two assists in the process. The Brazilian also scored one goal in two Champions League games for the Spanish giants.
