Arsenal are among clubs keeping close tabs on Benfica starlet Goncalo Guedes, according to the Daily Mail.
The Gunners scouts have been impressed with the 17-year-old footballer and they have instructed Arsene Wenger to try and lure him to the Emirates at the earliest opportunity.
Nevertheless, Arsenal will face stiff competition for the youngster’s signature seeing as how the winger is also followed by Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, among other clubs.
Meanwhile, Benfica are set to tie down Guedes to a new long-term contract that will reportedly see his release clause increased to £40 million.
The talented youngster has yet to be handed his first team debut, but he has impressed playing for the reserve side in Portugal’s second tier, scoring 3 goals in 12 appearances.
He has represented his country at Under-16, Under-17 and Under-18 level, and it won’t be long before he is given a chance to impress by Benfica boss Jorge Jesus.
