Premier League giants Arsenal are keeping close tabs on Stuttgart youngster Timo Baumgartl, Sport Bild has learned.
The Premiership side have been alerted of the defender’s potential and they continue to monitor his performances with a view of luring him to North London in the future.
Arsenal are in the market for a central defender, although chances are the 18-year-old will not be making a move to England at this moment in time.
Timo Baumgartl is the product of Stuttgart’s youth school and he was surprisingly promoted to the senior squad back in November.
After coming on as a substitute for Daniel Schwaab to make his Bundesliga debut, the youngster has started next six league fixtures for the Swabians.
The talented centre-back, who made a total of 22 appearances for club’s reserve side, seems to have quickly proved his worth at the big stage and Stuttgart chiefs will have a real battle on their hands to keep hold of his services.
