Lazio midfielder Cristian Daniel Ledesma is on the radar of Premier League side Arsenal, according to the player’s official representative.
The 32-year-old has a deal until June 2015 at Stadio Olimpico and chances are he will not be staying with the Biancocelesti for much longer.
According to Ledesma’s agent, the experienced midfielder has emerged as a target for Arsenal, with the Gunners having watched him on several occasions this season.
“It is true, Arsenal are interested in Cristian,” agent Vincenzo D’Ippolito was quoted as saying in the Daily Mail. “There have been scouts (watching), we’ll see if there will be an opportunity to examine an offer.”
Arsene Wenger is desperate to add a quality holding midfielder to his ranks in January and he is obviously looking for someone who can slot straight into the starting line-up.
Ledesma has got a great deal of experience having spent last eight years at Lazio, but he appears to be past his prime as witnessed by the fact that he only featured in three Serie A fixtures this season.
