Arsenal are finalizing a new contract they intend to offer to Kieran Tierney, according to The Athletic.
The Scotland international, currently away at the European Championship, has been putting in impressive performances since his arrival to North London from Celtic back in the summer of 2019. By now he has become one of the most significant players in Mikel Arteta’s squad, and his quality, reportedly not lost on some potential suitors, has earned him the right to having his terms improved. The new contract is set to see the 24-year-old left-back earn £110,000 per week for five years.
Having had a few problems with a knee and a groin, Tierney made 38 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners in 2020-21, scoring twice and making five assists. He played a very good game for Scotland as they drew 0-0 against England on Friday, which was his 21st cap for his country.
Plenty of changes are expected at Arsenal this summer, but Tierney is very much part of their plans for the future.
