According to a recent report from Gazzetta dello Sport, Arsenal are ready and willing to meet the €30 million asking price for Lorenzo Pellegrini after he failed to meet an arrangement with Roma over a new deal. The aforementioned fee is available in two installments of €15 million with Mikel Arteta considering him to be a player of serious interest.
The Gunners have already made some positive steps forward under the tutelage of new boss Arteta, but many are wondering whether or not he’ll be able to make significant strides forward by the time the summer transfer window rolls around.
Pellegrini is going to be a subject of real intrigue for Arsenal but if they fall into the trap of putting all of their eggs into one basket, then that could well be a strategy that comes back to bite them.
Either way, this isn’t a saga that’s going to go away anytime soon.
