Arsenal are ready to abandon their move for Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the summer transfer window, according to The Daily Star. The report has claimed that the Gunners manager Mikel Arteta had Calvert-Lewin high on his transfer list, but doubts on the 25-year-old’s form and fitness last season mean that the North London club may not bid for him now.
Calvert-Lewin made 15 starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League for Everton last season, scoring five goals and providing two assists in the process. The striker made 32 starts and one substitute appearances in the league for the Toffees in 2020-21, scoring 16 goals in the process/
Arsenal finished fifth in the Premier League table last season and will play in the Europa League in 2022-23. As for Everton, the Toffees narrowly avoided the dreaded drop to the Championship.
