German international Mesut Ozil has fallen out of favour with Unai Emery at Arsenal and could be on his way out of the club this January.
Ozil did not make it into last weekend’s squad with Emery’s public comment making it crystal clear that no player is irreplaceable.
Arsenal are now looking to offload the club’s highest earners and James Rodriguez has surprisingly emerged as a replacement for the German midfielder.
The Gunners are currently strapped for cash and are not in a position to bring anyone permanently but, according to reports coming from England, selling Ozil would free up funds necessary to cover the replacement.
Despite the lack of interest for their highly-priced star, Arsenal have identified James Rodriguez as the perfect replacement. The Colombian is currently 18 months into his two-year loan at Bayern Munich but the Real Madrid outcast is not expected to remain in Germany.
Daily Mail suggests Bavarians would be happy for Arsenal to cover the final six months of his loan deal.
