Arsenal are in advanced talks to sign Aaron Ramsdale from Sheffield United in the summer transfer window, according to Football.London. It has been reported that the Blades value Ramsdale at £30 million, and that the North London club will pay £24 million upfront with the rest in add-ons.
Bernd Leno is the first-choice goalkeeper at Arsenal at the moment, and that is not going to change, at least not this season. However, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta needs a capable back-up, and it seems that the North London club have identified Ramsdale as that player.
Ramsdale was superb for United last season, and with the Blades having been relegated to the Championship, there is a very good chance that the 23-year-old will leave. After all, the youngest is a very good goalkeeper who was part of the England squad that reached the Euro 2020 final this summer.
