Arsenal are the favourites to sign Leicester City midfielder Riyad Mahrez, according to the Daily Express.
With the future of Arsene Wenger sorted out, the Gunners are looking to strengthen their squad as they prepare for their first season outside of the Champions League in twenty years.
The Algeria international is in demand despite not reaching the heights of the 2015/16 where his side surprisingly clinched the Premier League title and he was named PFA Player of the Year.
He still managed ten goals last season – four of which came in Europe as the Foxes reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
In total, he has played one hundred and thirty-eight times for the East Midlands’ side since signing from Le Harve in January 2014, scoring thirty-five goals.
Internationally the twenty-six year old has been capped thirty times for his country, scoring eight times and was part of the squad that attended the 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil.
