Arsenal in new bid for Rui Patricio

English newspaper Daily Express is reporting that Arsenal are not giving up on Sporting Lisbon goalkeeper Rui Patricio.

Arsene Wenger has lost faith in Wojciech Szczesny, as witnessed by his decision to hand the number one spot to Lukasz Fabianski.

The Frenchman is now searching for a new goalkeeper and he has set his sights on Portugal international Rui Patricio.

Arsenal have already had a €10 million bid rejected for the talented keeper, but they are now set to increase their bid.

Sporting Lisbon chiefs are holding out for €15 million, which is well within Arsenal’s price range.

Rui Patricio is widely regarded as one of Europe’s most talented shot-stoppers and he has proved his worth with some scintillating displays for Portugal at the Euro 2012.

Having spent his entire career at Estadio Jose Alvalade, the 25-year-old is likely to be tempted by the opportunity to play for Arsenal.
