Arsenal interested in Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins

Arsenal are interested in signing Ollie Watkins from Premier League rivals Aston Villa in the summer transfer window, according to Football Insider. The Gunners will need to sign at least two new strikers for next season and beyond, and Watkins is on the radar of the North London club.

Watkins has made 25 starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League for Villa so far this season, scoring eight goals and providing one assist in the process. The 26-year-old striker score 14 goals and gave five assists in 37 league games for the Villans last season.

Arsenal are fifth in the Premier League table at the moment with 54 points from 29 matches, level on points with fourth-placed and bitter North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur, who have played 30 games. Meanwhile, Villa currently find themselves 11th in the Premier League table with 36 points from 30 games.
