According to a recent report from Gazzetta dello Sport, Arsenal may work together with Mino Raiola in order to orchestrate a swap deal with Italian side Roma.
The proposed deal would see Henrikh Mkhitaryan head to Roma on a permanent deal, which is where he’s been spending some time out on loan, whereas the Gunners would receive Justin Kluivert in exchange. Kluivert made the move over from Ajax two years ago for a fee of around €17 million, but the hope within the club is that they can make a notable profit on him if this deal did end up going through.
While it may seem like a risk for Roma to part with someone like Kluivert, it’s clear that Mhkitaryan fits into the kind of system they’re trying to play.
Either way, it’s going to be a busy few months at the Emirates as Mikel Arteta attempts to build a new squad in North London.
