Arsenal interested in Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar

Arsenal are interested in signing Houssem Aouar from Lyon in the summer transfer window, according to Calciomercato. The report in the Italian news outlet has claimed that the France international midfielder is ready to leave Lyon at the end of the season and move to another club in the summer of 2022.

Aouar is one of the best young midfielders in France and has a strong reputation. The 23-year-old has made 21 starts and five substitute appearances in Ligue 1 for Lyon so far this season, scoring three goals and providing three assists in the process. Aouar has also made four starts and two substitute appearances in the Europa League this campaign, scoring two goals in the process.

Arsenal are fourth in the Premier League table at the moment with 51 points from 26 matches. Meanwhile, Lyon currently find themselves 10th in the Ligue 1 table with 41 points from 28 games, as many as nine points behind third-placed Nice.
