Arsenal are interested in signing Julian Alvarez from Premier League rivals Manchester City in the summer transfer window, according to The Mirror. The report has claimed that although Arsenal were not planning to bring in a new striker, Alvarez potentially becoming available this summer could change that.
Alvarez is one of the best forwards in the Premier League and has been on the books of City since 2022 when he joined from Argentine giants River Plate. The 24-year-old Argentina international wants to play regular first-team football and could be on his way out of the Etihad Stadium.
The forward has made 67 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career. Alvarez has scored 20 goals and given nine assists in those games. The 24-year-old has helped City win the Premier League title twice, the FA Cup once, and the UEFA Champions League on one occasion. Arsenal finished second behind Manchester City in the Premier League table last season.
