Arsenal could be going big this summer! After an underwhelming transfer window before the start of the season, the upcoming summer could be very interesting and The Sun report that Gunners are interested in signing Barcelona’s Samuel Umtiti.
The French centre-back has been falling out favour at Ernesto Valverde’s side, mostly due to injuries and fine form from Clement Lenglet. However, if the talks are true and Barcelona are to really go for Matthijs De Ligt this summer, then Umtiti might really go in the end and Arsenal want to make the most of that.
The reason for Arsenal to be chasing Umtiti is Shkodran Mustafi. The error-prone German centre-back is having a hard time and Arsenal want to cash in on him as much as possible. Raising money for a potential Umtiti transfer would be smart move for Unai Emery, while Michael Keane is the reserve option in case the Frenchman does not arrive.
