The Mail Online understands that Arsenal are keen on signing Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas before the end of the World Cup.
The 33 year old has made just five La Liga appearances since the start of 2013, losing his place in the Real starting line up to fellow Spaniard Diego Lopez.
However, the World Cup and two-time European Championships winner has kept goal in cup competitions under Carlo Ancelotti, and last month captained his side to victory over rivals Atletico Madrid in the final of the Champions League.
He has three years remaining on his contract at the Bernabeu, though his year on year wages decreases may force him to consider his options.
Casillas is currently with Spain preparing for their World Cup opener against the Netherlands on Saturday week, and the holders can be backed at odds of 13/2 to lift the trophy at the Maracana on July 13th.
