The Daily Mail is suggesting that Arsenal could make a shock move for Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech in the summer transfer window.
The Gunners are keen to bring in a new ‘keeper as Arsene Wenger doesn’t seem to trust his current number-one, Wojciech Szczesny, but signing Chelsea’s shot-stopper would certainly be a surprise.
The 30-year-old is still the number-one choice at Stamford Bridge and you would say that at his age, he is in his peak right now, so if the Blues were to sell him, it might not be a decision that goes down well at Stamford Bridge.
The only way Cech could make a move to the Emirates Stadium is if Chelsea feel as though their on-loan 20-year-old goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois, is ready to play regular football in the English Premier League
Courtois is very highly-rated at the club and has performed well during his time in La Liga with Atletico Madrid, so he might become the main man between the sticks for the Blues next season.
It would certainly be a risk from the West Londoners as Cech has been one of the best that the Premier League has seen, but it is worth keeping an eye on this story.
