The Mirror is reporting that Arsenal are hot on the trail of Germany starlet Leon Goretzka.
The 22-year-old has become one of Europe’s most sought-after footballers following some impressive performances for Schalke and Die Mannschaft.
Goretzka has a deal until June 2018 at Veltins Arena and is not interested in renewing, meaning that he is set to leave either in January or at the end of the season.
It is believed that Barcelona lead the chase for his signature, while Juventus, Chelsea, Man City and Bayern Munich are also keen.
According to the Mirror, Arsenal have also joined the chase and they will attempt to sign Goretzka on a free transfer.
The Gunners could stay without both Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil in the near future, and they are in desperate need of attacking reinforcements.
