(GSM) – Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood have confirmed the club’s interest in signing Fulham goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer. According to Hill-Wood, the club has made an official enquiry for the goalkeeper but it was snubbed by Fulham.
Wenger wants a new first-choice goalkeeper and sees the 37-year-old former Middlesbrough shot-stopper as the ideal replacement for the shaky Manuel Almunia.
“We have made an enquiry for him and they are not prepared to sell him so we have gone away,” Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood told the Daily Star.
“We can only hope they will change their minds, but at the moment it doesn’t look like it.”
