Arsenal keeping tabs on Benfica star

Arsenal have shown interest in Benfica midfielder Javi Garcia, according to Cadena SER.

Arsene Wenger is looking to further reinforce his midfield area in January, and has already started identifying targets.

Arsene Wenger currently has Alex Song as the only recognized holding midfielder and is desperate to add at least one quality player to that area.

The Gunners boss is reportedly keen on Benfica midfielder Javi Garcia, and could make a January bid for the player’s services.

The 24-year-old is considered a key player at La Luz, so Benfica chiefs will do everything they can to keep hold of their star player.

However, the Spaniard has a €30 million clause inserted in his contract, and any offer close to the figure would be seriously considered.
