Arsenal keeping tabs on Hector Moreno

Spanish daily newspaper Marca has learned that Arsenal are among clubs showing interest in Espanyol defender Hector Moreno.

The Gunners signed Gabriel Paulista from Villarreal to reinforce their back line, but they could be adding another centre-back in the summer.

According to Marca, Hector Moreno is one of the players Arsenal are looking at, with the Mexican widely expected to leave Espanyol at the end of the season.

The likes of Juventus, Napoli and Stuttgart were also showing interest before the 27-year-old suffered a broken leg at the 2014 World Cup, but they could come back for the highly rated centre back now that he has proven his fitness.

Moreno has started 15 competitive fixtures since recovering from a serious injury and he has put himself back in the shopping window.

Espanyol value their star player at €10 million, but given the fact that the Mexican’s contract is due to expire in just over a year, they will probably have to settle for much less.
