French media outlet L’Equipe claims that Arsenal have emerged as favourites to sign Alexandre Lacazette from Lyon.
The highly rated footballer was on the verge of joining Atletico Madrid as les Gones confirmed an offer had been accepted, but the deal fell through as los Colchoneros’ transfer ban was upheld.
Lacazette is still looking to leave Lyon for greener pastures and latest reports suggest that Arsenal are now in pole position.
Manager Arsene Wenger has decided to splash out on a new centre forward and he is stepping up his efforts to recruit the France international.
Even though Lacazette was keen on joining his good friend Antoine Griezmann at Atletico Madrid, he was forced to change his plans and is now interested in moving to the Emirates.
