Arsenal lead chase for Remy

Arsenal are in pole position to sign QPR forward Loic Remy, Daily Mirror has revealed on Saturday.

The Gunners are looking to reinforce their attacking options in the summer and the French striker appears to have become their primary target.

According to Daily Mirror, Arsenal hope to win the chase for the player’s signature by matching the £8 million release clause in his contract.

Loic Remy is unlikely to return to Loftus Road having largely impressed during a loan spell at Newcastle, while it is believed he would prefer to remain in English Premier League.

A move to the Emirates is likely to appeal to him, especially since fellow Frenchmen Olivier Giroud and Yaya Sanogo would be his rivals for a starting berth.

Loic Remy, 27, has been in scintillating form this season, having bagged 13 goals in 23 Premier League outings. He also made 3 appearances for France in the 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign.
