Arsenal leading race for Tariq Lamptey

According to The Sun, Arsenal are the frontrunners for Tariq Lamptey. It has been reported by the British tabloid that Arsenal and Everton are interested in signing the 20-year-old from Premier League rivals Brighton and Albion in the summer of 2021. The report has added that the Gunners are now leading the race for the youngster, who can operate as a right-back or as a eight wing-back.

According to WhoScored, Lamptey has made 11 appearances in the Premier League for Brighton so far this season, scoring one goal and providing one assist in the process. During the 2019-20 campaign, the youngster made seven starts and one substitute appearance in the league for the Seagulls, providing one assist in the process, according to WhoScored.

Brighton are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season, and a move to Arsenal or Everton could be very tempting to Lamptey. The Seagulls themselves may have to sell if they are not in the Premier League in 2021-22.
