Italian TV station Rai has learned that Arsenal are keeping close tabs on AS Roma striker Mattia Destro.
Arsene Wenger faces a real attacking crisis at the moment and is, therefore, expected to add a quality striker to his ranks in January.
As a result, the Gunners have been linked with quite a few high-profile forwards of late, with Roma’s Mattia Destro reportedly the latest player on their hit-list.
Rai has suggested that Arsenal have already contacted the footballer’s agent to learn whether Destro would be interested in moving to the Emirates.
The 22-year-old missed the start of the season through injury but has scored 3 goals in 4 league outings since making his return.
Despite playing second fiddle to club icon Francesco Totti, Destro is held in high regard by Roma chiefs and it is unlikely that he will be allowed to leave Stadio Olimpico in the near future.
