Arsenal are interested in signing former Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo in the January transfer window, according to Rudy Galetti. The well-known and well-respected journalist has reported on his website that Arsenal plan to make a move for the Portugal international forward after the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
Ronaldo is a free agent at the moment after his contract at Manchester United was terminated by mutual consent. This followed an explosive interview from the former Juventus and Real Madrid star in which he criticised United head coach Erik ten Hag as well as the club’s owners.
Arsenal are five points clear of second-placed and defending champions Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table at the moment. Gabriel Jesus is the main striker for the Gunners, but he has suffered an injury for Brazil at the Qatar World Cup and could be out for three months.
